GORDY STEEP

Sick Children's Memorial Fund

Gordy Steep Sick Children's Memorial Fund

Local 480 started the “Gordy Steep Sick Children’s Memorial Fund” in April 2010 and we have slowly raised enough funds to help several families in the Greater Trail area. Our goal each year is to raise enough funds to continue helping our area families.

The fund is set up strictly to help children and their families get the needed care outside of our area, helping with travel or accommodation costs.

We have partnered with the KBRH Health Foundation to help us with the administration of this fund.  The KBRH Health Foundation was chosen to assist with administration as it allows the Gordy Steep Sick Children’s Memorial Fund to move beyond assisting just Local 480 and 9705 members and families.  KBRH’s connection to families in need is expanded via their network of social workers, physicians including Pediatricians, and nurses who are in direct contact with the sick children and their families.  This enables this group of professionals to assess need and direct requests for those families right to the Foundation.  KBRH Health Foundation’s

involvement will help us identify all area families with sick children that are in need of financial assistance.

Our hope is that we will be in a position to raise enough funds to keep a solid balance in this fund through our community initiatives.

We would greatly appreciate your consideration in making any donation to this fund and allowing us to continue helping children in need.

Donations can be made at our Local 480 office at 910 Portland St. Trail BC or at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.
